A few pages on a website may not be enough to convince you that the connection between oral health/oral immunity and whole-body health is real, and is important. We are convinced, however, because we at the Advanced Health Research Institute, in conjunction with the Comprehensive Dental Center, have done thousands of hours of exhaustive research and investigation into this field.
We have also seen hundreds of patients with various symptoms of disease that have had those symptoms diminished or eliminated with proper, healthy-style dental care, and have documentation to prove it. This care has included amalgam removal, replacing mixed-metals in the mouth with biocompatible materials, re-treating traditional root canal treatments which have re-infected, and replacing bone loss around teeth caused by necrotic tissue that formed around botched root canals.
Ironically, back in the 1800's and in to the early 1900's, the professions of dentistry and medicine were linked, and there were several physicians who were also practicing dentists, and dentists who were qualified physicians. These professionals understood the links between dental health and whole-health.
One such practitioner was a man named Dr. Greenville V. Black, considered the father of modern dentistry. Dr. Black was an MD as well as a dentist, though dentistry was his preference. He never stopped researching and delving in to new ways to practice and improve his profession. He authored a philosophy which we admire and follow: "The professional man has no right to be other than a continual student."
Dr. Richard T. Hansen, our Director of Research, subscribes to this motto, and is considered an international expert in the field of laser dentistry and laser dental therapies. Dr. Hansen personally researched and evaluated several dental lasers for approval by the Food and Drug Administration, and has invented and trademarked several "healthy" laser dental procedures. He has made it his life's mission to research what he calls the "Mind-Body-Mouth Connection." His desire is to elevate the practice of dentistry to a profession that does more than just drill and fill teeth--a profession which knows and understands how to work hand-in-hand with other healthcare professionals to maximize the good health and effective immune systems of every patient.

When you do, ask about the groundbreaking book, The Key to Ultimate Health, co-written by Ellen Brown, JD, and Richard T. Hansen, DMD, FACAD. This book explains in great detail the connection between the mouth and whole-body health, and answers a lot of questions about conventional dental methods vs. healthy alternatives.
